Metal Monday April Recap

We started Metal Mondays in April by interviewing our employees and asking them their favorite metal types, what they would make in our shop if they could manufacture anything and what they would use their creation for after it was made. After a month of stories we have come up with a small collection of different stories to share. We like to share these stories for a couple of reasons:

  1. We like for people to get to know us on a personal level and about the employees that help make our company a success.
  2. We like to showcase that we are open to taking on any type of project no matter how big, small, or crazy it may be.

We have enjoyed creating these Metal Monday stories and plan to go forward with more of them in the month of May. We hope you have enjoyed them so far too. Here is a recap of April's Metal Monday stories:

Metal Monday - Keith

What is your favorite type of metal?
Keith: Miro reflective.

If you could manufacture anything in the Dickmann Manufacturing Company shop with your favorite type of metal what would you make?
Keith: A go-kart body.

How would you create it?
Keith: The miro reflective would be the skin/body of the cart. We would utilize our rolling and forming capabilities after laser cutting the body work to size. Jim and the engineering team would help design a CAD file to upload into our offline programming. I would have trust that the parts were accurate, on-time and made by the best fabricators in the world.

What would you use it for?
Keith: I would use the go-kart to be the coolest dad on the block.

Metal Monday - Pete

What is your favorite type of metal?
Pete: Aluminum

If you could manufacture anything in the Dickmann Manufacturing Company shop with your favorite type of metal what would you make?
Pete: A torque converter cover for my 1970 Gilson mini bike.

How would you create it?
Pete: A combination of laser cuttingforming and spot welding.

What would you use it for?
Pete: To cover the belt and torque converter so I don't get my pant leg stuck in it.

Metal Monday - Kevin
